You can think of it in terms of layers: the first layer covers the surface level. During a proofreading I make sure there’s no grammatical errors, typo’s, spelling or punctuation mistakes.
The next layer goes further than a simple grammar check. During a correcting and editing job, I check and correct where necessary the vocabulary used, spot and correct consistency issues, adapt the register, the cohesion, and the purpose. In short: I make sure your message gets across perfectly.
The last layer is a thorough review, which includes not only everything I’ve mentioned so far, but also content checking, structure and accuracy checking, and substantial changes to improve your SEO positioning.
